Postgraduate Research Opportunities

I welcome motivated postgraduate students interested in advanced computational structural engineering, artificial intelligence and numerical simulation to join my research group at Tongji University, College of Civil Engineering.

My research group focuses on the integration of computational mechanics, nonlinear finite-element analysis, high-performance computing and artificial intelligence for solving challenging problems in structural engineering.

Research Topics for MSc and PhD Students

1. Advanced Nonlinear Finite-Element Analysis

Development and application of advanced numerical methods for modelling reinforced concrete and complex structural systems under static, dynamic and seismic loading conditions.

2. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Structural Engineering

Development of machine learning models, predictive algorithms and AI-assisted design methodologies using large-scale computational datasets generated through advanced simulations.

3. High-Performance Computing for Structural Simulation

Large-scale finite-element simulations, parallel computing strategies and computational acceleration techniques for next-generation structural analysis.

4. Structural Health Monitoring and Digital Twins

Integration of numerical modelling, monitoring technologies, artificial intelligence and digital twin approaches for intelligent structural assessment.

5. ReConAn FEA and Scientific Software Development

Development of advanced computational tools for structural engineering applications, including nonlinear analysis, material modelling and large-scale simulation.
